Advanced American Technologies (ATT)
is developing and marketing uses for the
AT2LAS high strength ceramic and/or metal impregnated epoxy resin
casting system. This new wonder material has applications in radiation
shielding, thermal insulation, structures for space vehicles, ballistic
protection, tooling and many other areas of interest. Join HAL5 as we
welcome Col. (Ret) Robert Grigsby, President of ATT as he tells the
story of this new product and his company.
About Colonel (Retired) Robert E. Grisby
Active Duty September 1988 to February 2014
Rob was commissioned in the Aviation Branch and initially served as an
OH-58D Platoon leader with the 24th Infantry Division during Desert
Shield and Storm. He held various troop command and staff positions
with the 101st Airborne Division, Joint Task Force – Bravo (Honduras)
and with the 2nd Infantry Division (Aide-de-Camp to the CG). Following
an assignment at the Field Artillery Center Directorate of Combat
Developments he attended Air Command and Staff College and was assessed
into the Acquisition Corps. Rob holds an Industrial Engineering Bachelor
of Science degree from the University of Alabama, a Masters of
Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a
Masters of Military Arts and Science from the Air University. His
acquisition assignments include the Defense Contract Management Agency
(DCMA) Headquarters where he served as the Army Aviation Operations
Officer, and later as Commander, DCMA Southeast Aircraft Operations –
Enterprise, AL where he was responsible for the oversight of 14
manufacturing facilities throughout Florida, Alabama, and Puerto Rico
conducting overhaul, maintenance, modification and repair of over 100
Foreign Military, Army, Navy, and Air Force aircraft. Prior to taking
over as the Director of the Future Combat Systems Department of the Army
Systems Coordinator (DASC) office, he was Program Manager for
Counter-Proliferation at U.S. Special Operations Command and attended
the US Army War College Fellowship at the University of Texas. COL
Grigsby concluded his military career following three and a half years
as Project Manager - Armed Scout Helicopter. Following his retirement,
Rob was a consultant to several small business’ as well as other larger
companies in the aviation and aerospace industries. In 2015 he
established Advanced Aerospace Tooling, Inc. and in 2017 he started
Advanced American Technologies, LLC.
Award and decorations include the Legion of Merit (2-OLC), Defense
Meritorious Service Medal (2-OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2-OLC),
Air Medal (Valor Device), Army Commendation Medal (OLC), Joint Service
Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Assault Badge, Airborne
Badge and the Senior Army Aviator Badge. Other awards include the Order
of St. Michael, the Order of St. Barbara, the Order of St. George, and
the Draper Combat Leadership Award. Rob’s acquisition certifications
include Level III in Contracting and Program Management.
